Angel On Fire – Open Letter [My Response] by Crissy Deevah

So my fellow colleague DDotomen posted the open letter that was written by the creator of Concreteloop.com’s Angel Laws. Peep this letter below…

OPEN LETTER: “BLOGGERS, CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG…??”10.27.09

It’s sad to say that I’m only cool with a couple bloggers in the game. People let egos, pageviews (& whatever else) interfere with the initial ideal at hand…the blogging community. The black entertainment blogging community is so tainted that I could throw the eff up just thinking about it.Like any business, people smile in your face while they talk behind your back. I get that. But I refuse to get sucked into that world any longer, because I’m on to bigger and better things. I started CONCRETE LOOP as a broke college student still living with her parents and now it’s a full fledged business and I’m doing things I’d never thought I’d do. Meeting people I’d never thought I’d meet. These petty blog beefs, twitter beefs and overall chit-chatter within the black blogging community is a waste of energy and time. We should all be happy that black women are doing their thing and making something out of nothing. But no, we rather fight among each other like fools. And now people have the nerve to try to bring up how a blogger looks? Which blogger is prettier? Are you fucking kidding me?Anytime someone has come to me looking for advice on blogging, I’ve always tried to give them my two cents and advice. But, don’t ask me for my advice and then turn over and talk shit or throw me under the bus with the same breath. Where they do that at? Burning bridges is never a good look.I’m happy for any minority making a dollar out in the field, but I don’t settle for mediocrity and neither should you. We all know someone is ALWAYS going to talk, not everyone is going to like you and people will always be envious. I just hope these grown ass women know, that we are the future of this entertainment game and it’ll be better in the long run if we work together.People always ask me why I take blogging so seriously? This is a business. I pay taxes. I have goals and want to see growth. Anything I invest my time and energy into I take seriously. Shouldn’t you?Yes I’m talking to you SANDRA ROSENECOLE BITCHIEMISS JIANATASHA EUBANKS, andFRESHCan’t we all just get along? I remember the days when I was kinda cool with everyone before people started getting greedy for pageviews and throwing shade left and right. These personal attacks need to end. The fakeness is damn near blinding and I will no longer feed into the negativity.

So after reading this I was quite amused to say the least; the main reason being because I was a personal victim of Angel Law’s and Concrete Loop’s ego. I found it funny how she mentioned that she reaches out to people in need of help or advice about blogging, etc.

Example # 1

Two years ago when I first started blogging I hit up Angel Laws several times in regards to asking for advice about starting a high profile blogsite such as hers. No response. By my “third attempt” I gave up.

Example #2

Before Mickey Factz gained his notability, I emailed the music editor and Angel Laws several times in regards to posting his music on the site. I sent about 3 or 4 emails in regards to Mick. The song I was trying to get reviewed at the time was “The Incredible”. No response. I then gave up. Mickey Factz has yet to have a feature on Angel Law’s site.

So what’s my point in all of this? People in the music industry do this everyday right? That’s correct, however I have always looked at things from the inside looking out; not vice versa. [follow me?]

Obama said it best. If you want change, then change.  If you want the egos, petty blog drama, and backstabbing to cease, then play your role. It amazes me how when people get attacked they then want to play the  Rev. Al Sharpton “Let’s work together in unity, we’re all black women…etc, etc. ” role.

In order to unify, you must recognize. Recognize when it’s you that needs to change first before you start asking other people to. I don’t pass judgement on people based upon other people’s conflicts, experiences, etc. I make my own experiences. There are only 2 types. Good Ones or Bad Ones. It sounds corny but maybe I’m just old fashioned, maybe I just think way back like my parents-parents taught me. “Treat people how you want to be treated”. When you treat people how you want to be treated, there will never be any surprises. Only you know what you’re capable of, so you know what your capable of receiving back. Though it’s not likely for negativity to  cease in the next 100 decades, it’s likely that you can start with yourself. Though I’m sure it’s hard to do when you’re pretty notable and semi-popular because you can get wrapped up in this world we know as “the industry”…in some parts of the world there is still such a thing as humbling yourself.

Tell em why you mad son? Nah, thats not me. It’s like when your favorite store pisses you off and you say you’re never going back, but then you end up there the  next week spending your paycheck again. With that being said. I still like Angel’s site. Truthfully, I visit it everyday. It’s one of the only Urban Blogs that has credible, notable, organized, and up to date information on the web for entertainment. Do I think she deserves to go through negativity? Nope, no one should. Am I saying I don’t like her as a person? I don’t know her as a person. I know Angel Laws is not perfect. Truthfully, I’m just saying the next time you write an open letter; think about the same people you’re talking about and make sure you’re not one of them.

Am I bitter? Of course not. And I’m not here to get my 2 seconds of blogging fame.  Like I said “these type of things happen everyday” in the business that we’re all trying to be apart of. All you can do is keep it moving, and remember times like this. =)

Hi Hater: Kanye West Edition by Crissy Deevah

So Kanye West called himself interrupting Taylor Swift’s winning speech tonight at the 2009 MTV VMA’s. Evidentally Yeezy was upset that Mrs. Carter (Beyonce) did not with the Best Female Artist Video Award and came up on stage proclaiming “I’m sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time”.

Whoever forgot to give Kanye his medication before the show….major FAIL.

According to MTV News , “Once cameras cut away from the action, West apparently flipped off the crowd and returned to his seat. During the next commercial break, Pink walked by the rapper and appeared to shake her head in disgust before security escorted her away. West remained steadfast amidst the commotion as he planted a kiss on his girlfriend Amber Rose.”

My thoughts on this? Personally I thought Beyonce’s video was wack, bland, and non-creative…but that’s just me. Either way that was very rude and untasteful on Kanye’s behalf. It’s even more classless that Beyonce sat there giggling in amazement.

Hate To Say I Told You So: Method Man vs Joe Budden by Crissy Deevah

Shout out to RON DARLING who basically argued me down about this on Twitter….hate to say I told you so. LOL

I just knew Joe Budden’s comment about Method Man, would come back to bite him in the a**. Basically Meth was on Power 105.1 with Ed Lover and wait……..back up……..Joe Budden was on first before Method Man and he talked about how at “this day and time” he is much doper than Method Man lyrically.

Ed Lover added his opinion about how he disagrees with Joe Budden (which I agree with also) , oh and had some time to son Joe Budden about not knowing who Cowboy was. Being a student of hip hop and all, as Joe Budden claims and blah blah blah, he basically had to go and do his research about Cowboy. Joe Budden even had time to make a controversial comment like, “I will cut this guys head off” (lyrically).

So anyway, after Budden was on….Meth came on after him and gave his thoughts about the whole situation and how Joe Budden is crazy if he thinks he’s better than him. Meth was cool at first and then started to amp up about the “cut your head off” comment. Meth told us what we already know which is that he’s not a battle rapper and that lyrically over a track he would kill Joe Budden.

So my questions are, Why does everyone always want to beat Joe Budden’s ass?, Why does Joe Budden talk so much sh*t, and Why does everything  in hip hop have to result to violence?

Now the cut your head off comment and Meth taking it waaay to seriously is irrelevant…what is relevant, is that I want to see Meth and Budden go hard over a beat and let the people of hip hop decide who’s doper. I personally agree with Ed Lover that Method Man is still nice and always will be. I also agree with Method Man, out of everyone on Vibe’s Best Rapper list, why would he choose to say some sh*t about Meth?? I mean Joe could have picked (no disrespect) N.O.R.E., Treach, AZ, etc. Joe could have even picked Keith Murray to eff with (which is still pushing it because I EVEN think Keith Murray is doper than Joe Budden).

Bottom line is… there will not be a answer if its up to the both of them to decide (because they both think they’re better)…the people must decide. The best thing to do is get it going on a track and wait for the TRUE answer.

Rick Ross Gets Son’d by Louis Vuitton… by Crissy Deevah

The irony of this cover is that the caption reads..”I’ve never had a credibility problem and still don’t”…wow, looks like somebody set you up for this one Ricky…ala 50 Cento LOL. What a MAJOR slap in the face.

So in an effort to completely embarrass rapper Rick Ross, Louis Vuitton released this letter to XXL Magazine about Ross on the cover wearing a pair of Louis Vuitton  [correction] Non-Louis Vuitton Sunglasses. Now, if I were Ross, I would fire my “so-called” stylist for hooking me up with a pair of knock off’s from Canal Street. I’m sorry but I can’t help to think that Kanye is probably laughing his ass off right now, lol. Peep the statement below from Louis V.

via RapBasement

Dear Editor:

We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.

The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.

 Sincerely,

Michael D. Pantalony, Esq.
Louis Vuitton Malletier

Damn Ross, does this mean you can’t afford anything Louis?? Louis Vuitton, Louis the VIII, The Louis Vuitton Don on your track….!!!
